     PEARL VanBENSCHOTEN of Delmar Road, Slate Hill, a lifelong resident of the area, died Friday, Nov. 9, at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown.  She was 68.
     The daughter of the late Charles E. and Margaret A. Stewart Knibbs, she was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Slate Hill.  She was the widow of Frank W. VanBenschoten and a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Ridgebury.
     Survivors include two sons, Frank W. VanBenschoten, Jr. of New Hampton and John A. VanBenschoten of Slate Hill; three daughters, Carol A. Hujus and Beth Ann VanBenschoten, both of Slate Hill, and Jean D. Normoyle of Middletown; two brothers Edward Knibbs of Middletown and Gary Knibbs of Slate Hill, two sisters Lucille Doty of Bullville and Margaret Struble of Slate Hill; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Ralston-Lippincott Funeral Home, 72 W. Main St., Middletown.
     Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  The Rev. Edna M. Felter and the Rev. William Johnson will officiate.
     Burial will be in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgebury.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Dialysis Center, 168 Crystal Run Road, Middletown.
