EDWARD BRIEN IS A SUICIDE
Patient at State Hospital Takes Life by Hanging
Monroe, Jan. (Special)--Edward Brien, a plumber who had for several years been in the employ of Monroe committed suicide by hanging himself in the State Hospital in Middletown, Monday, shortly after 12 o'clock. Mr. Brien was committed to the hospital by doctors for observation about four weeks ago; in the meantime he returned home and resumed his labors, but his malady returned and he was recommitted. It was thought by the doctors at the Institution he would eventually recover.
Mr. Brien was about 31 years of age, he was a genial and good natured and seemingly a light hearted person, always being identified with sports and athletics, especially base and basketball. His untimely death is a shock to alll who knew him. He is survived by a widow and one son about 14 years of age. Mr. Brien formerly came from Middletown.
